YoungEd Africa programmes are designed to support young educators in 3 key thematic areas that we believe are critical to positioning them for the future.

Professional Development

Objective: Up-skill educators with relevant knowledge and skills for improved education delivery and preparedness for the future.

Through our annual YoungEd Africa Fellowships, we provide scholarships and capacity building sponsorships towards professional development within various Education sector career tracks.

YoungEd Scholar Fellowships

This programme is targeted at Africans between the ages of 16-30, who are studying or interested in studying education related courses at undergraduate or post graduate levels.

YoungEd Professional Fellowships

This programme is targeted at Africans between the ages of 20-40, who work in the education sector and are interested in developing a successful profession in a specific field of education.

Internet & Data Systems

Objectives: Advance capacity for research through increased access to online resources; and improve programme and policy decision making through the data.

YoungEd Africa seeks to use innovative approaches to address issues around internet access costs as well as gaps in demographic data to support research and programme/policy considerations.

Internet for Education Initiative

In view of high internet usage costs in Africa, this programme aims to lower internet affordability barriers and expand access to online resources, for students/researchers, who are invested in advancing the education sector through focused research and project efforts.

Data for Education Initiative

This initiative is focused on addressing the demographic data availability gaps on education professionals in Africa, to better inform regional/global programme and policy decisions towards advancing the education sector.

Media & Advocacy

Objective: Broaden the visibility and conversation on developments and achievements within Africa’s education sector

YoungEd Media

As a news aggregation digital channel, YoungEd Media aims to bring focus to developments within Africa’s education sector with emphasis on its impacts, challenges and opportunities for African Youths.

The YoungEd Prize

This is an annual award event that aims to recognize, reward and promote excellence and notable achievements amongst education sector professionals and also galvanize interests/passion amongst young educators across Africa.
